Alejandro “Alex” Diaz Cruz, 69, of Brownfield, passed from this life on September 27th, 2020. Viewing will be held at Grace Funeral and Cremation care in Brownfield from 5pm to 8pm on Wednesday, September 30th. Services will be held on October 1, 2020, at Abundant Harvest at 2pm, with burial to follow at Brownfield cemetery.
Alex was born on August 26, 1951, to Gilbert and Eloisa Cruz in Temple, TX. Alex worked for Terry County for over 25 years. He also worked for the gin as a truck driver. He is best remembered for his love of music and dancing. He never missed a Cowboys game and enjoyed watching the Rangers and Texas Tech. What he loved most was being around his family, making jokes and making the family laugh.
He was always so excited to watch his granddaughters play sports. Alex loved seeing all his grandchildren do what they loved.
Those left to cherish his memories are his two sons; Alex Anthony Cruz and Fernando Cruz of Brownfield; two daughters, Gina and husband Eddy Cruz of Brownfield; Angela Cruz of Lubbock; two step-sons, Israel Leon and Ray Leon of Brownfield; five sisters, Annalie Hernandez of Hereoin, Olivia Arguellez of Victoria, Sylvia and husband James Buchanan, Nancy and husband Frank Alvarado of Brownfield; Emma Martinez of San Antonio; one brother, Ernesto Calconcin of Breckinridge; 9 grandchildren: Casey Garza of Lubbock, Sabrina Garza of Brownfield, Kaitlyn Garza of San Antonio, Calvin Cruz and Robyn Cruz of San Antonio; Xaria Cruz of Lubbock, Clarissa Flores and Andrew Flores of Brownfield; Ian Garcia of Lubbock and Megan Constancio of Lubbock.
