Mr. Bernardino Garcia Resident of Lubbock

Bernardino “Veke” Garcia, 77, of Lubbock, TX, passed away on Tuesday, February 23, 2021, in Lubbock, TX. Bernardino was born on May 20, 1943, to Anselmo and Ramona Garcia in Waelder, TX. Bernardino was known to make others laugh and ultimately a jokester. He enjoyed Tejano music and was the leader of his very own band known as "Veke And The Ravens".  Bernardino was also a huge sports fan. He enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys and the LA Dodgers. His family will especially remember him smoking his cigs and drinking his daily coffee.   Bernardino was preceded in death by his father; Anselmo Garcia, mother; Ramona Garcia, wife; Carmen Garcia, sister; Rosa Garcia, brothers; Lupe Garcia, Joe Garcia, Anselmo Garcia Jr., Mayo Garcia, and grandson; Adam Garcia. Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Brenda Martinez of Slaton, Bernardino Garcia Jr. of Lubbock, Diana Reyes Garcia of Lubbock, Sammy Garcia of Slaton, Robert Luz of Lubbock, and Susan Torres of Austin. He also leaves to cherish his memory 11 Grandchildren, 27 Great Grandchildren, 14 Great Great Grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.   A celebration of his life will take place on Friday March 5, 2021 with a visitation from 5-8 P.M. at Grace Funeral Care Chapel located at 3418 I-27 in Lubbock. Rosary will begin at 6 p.m. He will be laid to rest in the Slaton Englewood Cemetery on Saturday March 6, 2021 at 11 a.m.  The care of Bernardino has been entrusted to the professionals of Grace Funeral Care Inc.
