Mr. Joel Soto "Jo Jo Get Down" Resident of

Joel John Soto, also known as JoJo “Get Down” Soto, passed from this life on Thursday, October 15, 2020, in Lubbock, Texas. Joel was born on January 31, 1968, to Rev. Juan and Jesusa Soto in Muleshoe, Texas. He later moved to Meadow, Texas, where he would become a permanent resident. Joel graduated from Muleshoe High School in 1987 and later moved to Bedford, Texas, where he worked for American Eagle Airlines for twenty years. Joel is survived by his wife, Emedelia Sambrano; his parents Rev. Juan and Jesusa Soto; three sons, John Christopher Soto, Joshua Alexander Soto and wife Ashley Clousn, all from Mineral Wells, Texas; David Cruz Soto from St. Charles, Missouri; three sisters, Abigail Rivas and husband Ramon from Muleshoe, Texas; Kristina Soto Chacon and husband Juan Carlos from Brownfield, Texas; Laura Soto Zavala and husband Robert Jr. from Lubbock, Texas; niece/sister Amanda Nicole Vega and husband Gregory Shawn Martin from Wolfforth, Texas. Joel is also survived by three granddaughters, three nephews, six nieces, seven great-nephews and five great-nieces. Joel is preceded in death by his son Joel Keith Soto and great-nieces Rebecca Damaris Martin and Bethany Grace Martin. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 23, 2020, from 5pm to 7pm at Grace Funeral and Cremation Care in Brownfield, Texas. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2020, at 11am at Grace Funeral and Cremation Care Chapel in Brownfield, Texas, with Rev. Vicente Villalon officiating. Interment will follow at Meadow Cemetery.
