Alex Flores

Alexander “Alex” Flores was born on October 7^th, 1963, in Mason, Texas to Trinidad and Beatrice Flores.

Alex was born in Texas, but he was raised in San Diego, California. He decided to permanently move to Lubbock, Texas in 2014, to be close to his parents before their passing.

Alex was a walking testimony to everything he had been through in his life. He was shot at a young age and that resulted in him having to be in a wheelchair. He continued to move forward though and keep God at the center of his life. This is what kept him strong!

On April 4^th, 1995, Alex married Misty Flores in San Diego, California. Though they divorced later in life, they remained best friends and always kept in contact.

Alex graduated from San Diego City College, in December of 2011, with a Behavioral Sciences degree in alcohol and drug studies. He became a drug counselor to help people get clean and off the streets.

Alex was a person that you could vent to, or just ask him for advice, and he would always have an answer for you or just hear you out. He loved the Word of the Lord. His favorite bible verse was ROMANS 8:38, “AND WE KNOW THAT ALL THINGS WORK TOGETHER FOR GOOD TO THEM THAT LOVE GOD, TO THEM WHO ARE CALLED ACCORDING TO HIS PEOPLE.”

Left to cherish his memory are his sisters and brothers: Helen Gonzales (Joseph Sr.), Elicio Flores, Sr. (Mary), Trinidad Flores, Jr (Layla), Ruthie Smith (Ruben), Rachel Smith (James), Sally Gutierrez (Ray); sister-in-law, Annette Flores; and a host of nieces and nephews from Cali-Texas, and in between.

Alex is preceded in death by his parents, Trinidad and Beatrice Flores; his sister, Eunice Flores; and his brothers, Ezequiel Flores, Felix Flores, Sr., and Johnny Flores, Sr.

Alex Passed away on October 28^th, 2023 with his family by his side.

A viewing will be held from 10am-2pm Wednesday, November 8, 2023. Visitation will be held from 11am-6pm Thursday, November 9, 2023 with a Celebration of Life to begin at 6pm at Grace Funeral Chapel. Funeral Service will be held at 10am Friday, November 10, 2023 at Grace Funeral Chapel with Pastor Roy Rosas officiating. Burial to follow at Peaceful Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will include; Bobby Barela, Gilbert Gutierrez, Joseph Gonzales, III, Manny Flores, Ruben Smith, Tomas Gonzalez. Honorary pallbearers will include, Elijah Barela & Josiah Flores.
