Little Mr. Malachi R. Zarate "Mal" Resident of Lubbock

Malachi Ryan "Skyhorse" and his precious Mother Nikkee Danielle Neel of Lubbock, passed away on Friday, February 4, 2022. Family and friends will gather for a visitation 5-7 p.m. Friday February 18, 2022 at Thrive Church. A funeral service celebrating his life will be 11 a.m. Saturday Febuary 19, 2022 at the same location.Malachi will be laid to rest in the City of Lubbock Cemetery with his mother. Malachi Ryan “Skyhorse” Zarate was born to Nikkee Danielle Neel and Eric Hernandez “Little Running Bull” on November 10, 2015. Malachi was a student at Roy Roberts Elementary. Malachi loved playing with his dinosaurs and playing Fortnite with his cousins. Both of these beautiful souls spent every day living in the moment and loved spending time with family. This mother and son were inseparable and were never far from each other. Malachi is survived by his dad Eric Hernandez “Little Running Bull” and step-mother Amber Hernandez; brother Jason Valverde and sisters Aria and Coraline Hernandez, step-father Robert Zavier Garcia of Lubbock, grandmother Cyndi Zarate and step-grandfather Julio Hernandez Jr. of Lubbock; grandfather Gilbert Redcrow Hernandez; great-grandmothers Hope Zarate and husband Pete Hernandez of Lubbock; Ann Glogowski of Brownfield; grandparents Maria and Julio Hernandez Sr.; Uncle Joshua Zarate and wife Maria Borrego of Lubbock and several cousins.
