Mr. David V. Martinez Sr. "Godas" Resident of Lubbock

Mr. David V. MartinezSr. 81, of Lubbock passed away peacefully on Thursday June 16, 2022 in Lubbock. A memorial mass will be held Wednesday June 22, 2022 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church located at 1120 52nd Street with Father Martin Pina, officiating. Lunch will be provided for family and guest.

David was born March 15, 1941 to Antonio Martinez and Petra Vargas in Welder, Texas. He was a self-employed bricklayer and was known as "Godas" for over 50 years until his retirement. David loved walking and driving in his truck. But he mostly enjoyed spending time with his family especially his great-grandkids.

He leaves to cherish his fondest memories, daugthter; Leticia M. Rodriquez ( Joe) of Lubbock, son; David Martinez Jr. (Gloria) of Sacramemento, California. He also leaves behind 4 grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and a host of other relatives. 

Cremation arrangements are entrusted to the professionals of Grace Funeral Care Inc.
