James Earl Morris passed away peacefully surrounded by his family November 12, 2022 in Lubbock, TX. A visitation will be held Friday November 25, 2022 5-8 at the Grace Funeral Care Chapel located at 6604 I-27 in Lubbock. A service celebrating his life will be held Saturday November 26, 2022 10 am at the chapel. He will be laid to resy in the Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park.
He was 70 years old. Mr. Morris was born on July 19, 1952 in Hillsboro, TX to his parents; Charles Morris SR. (Ruthie) Bernice Elliot Skief (Finnez). He moved to Dallas, TX where he was self-employed as a small engine repair mechanic. He then retired and moved to Lubbock, TX to live out his remaining years with his daughter , Helen Morris.
James Earl Morris was known as Uncle James Earl or Paw Paw. Mr. Morris was also known for his sense of humor and a being a Dallas Cowboys Fan. He made friends everywhere he went , he never met a stranger. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, gardening and giving advice to his young family.
Mr. Morris is survived by daughters; Helen Morris Vasquez (Lorenzo) , Patricia Morris Banda (Lupio) , Diana Morris of Lubbock, Cosette Hightower Smith of Dallas, TX , Sons; Michael Castillo of Lubbock, Charles D. Smith of Abilene, TX Surviving siblings one brother; Charles “Checkie” Morris of Malone, TX Five sisters; Ora Davis of Ft Worth, TX , Anita Morris Bolden of Hubbard, TX , Cynthia Morris of Cleburne, TX , Edgrina Morris Sloan (William) of Dallas, TX , Kimberly Morris Mcgruder (Daniel) of West, TX.
He is preceded in death by his parents; Charles Morris SR. (Ruthie) Bernice Elliot Skief (Finnez) 3 sisters; Rev. Beatrice Morris Clark, Hattie “Pam” Morris , Helen “Woody” Morris 5 brothers; Terrance Davis, Tony Morris, Ross Morris, Leslie Morris, Vance Morris, and Grandson Keanu James Morris.
Please wear your Dallas Cowboys Attire on Friday.
