Mr. John A. Owens Jr. Resident of Lubbock

John Ambrose Owens, Jr. passed away on February 27, 2023. He was born on March 18, 1961 to John Ambrose Owens and Rosalie M. (Baltes) Owens in Cedar Falls, Iowa. John graduated from Eastwood High School in 1980 in Pemberville, Ohio, and attended various courses post-high school in advancing his career in the HVAC repair and maintenance field.

He was well-known among his family and peers as a genius in his knowledge of mechanics and automobiles and could repair anything that needed service. John’s true passion was in vehicle restoration; from making an engine run perfectly, to painting the body that could rival any showroom finish, he simply was amazing. He was a very animated man, with an amazing sense of humor, often bringing his family members to tears of laughter. He had an uncanny ability to imitate people, animals, and even automobiles. He loved children and his dogs, and had an enormous and gentle heart .

He will be greatly missed by all. John was a beloved father, son, grandfather, brother, and uncle. His greatest pride was his son, Matthew, and his face would light up in showing pictures of, or speaking about, his grandchildren.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are as follows: His son, Matthew (Lauren) Owens, and grandchildren, Reyna and Ryan; his father, John A. Owens, Sr.; and his siblings, Raymond (Vicky) Owens, Daniel (Holly) Owens, Robert (Lisa) Owens, Mary Angela Brown, Kathleen (Brian) Hays, Rosalie (Jay) Homuth, Patricia Green, and Thomas (Billie Jo) Owens.

John was preceded in death by his most beloved Mother, Rosalie Margaret Owens.

And as he would say, "Love Well, Because No One Is Promised Tomorrow".
