Mr. Jose L. Salinas Resident of Brownfield

Jose L. Salinas, age 74, of Brownfield went home to be with his Heavenly Father on Thursday June 8, 2023. Jose passed away peacefully and comfortably at his home, surrounded by the love of his children, and grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Thursday June 15, 2023, from 4pm to 8pm. Vigil service at 6pm by Pastor Michael Morin, following Rosary at 6:30pm. The Funeral Service will be Friday June 16, 2023, at 10am at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, with Father John Ohlig officiating then burial to follow at the Brownfield Cemetery.

Jose was born May 7, 1949, in Dr. Gonzalez, Neon Leon Mexico, to Cristobal Salinas Trevino and Tomasita Martinez. He married Josefa G. Gutierrez on December 10, 1975, in Monterrey México. They moved to the United States in February of 1994. Jose was a hardworking man. Jose had a varied career which included work in the oil rigs, construction, and grape vineyards. Jose spent some of his time watching TV. He liked to watch the news, soccer games, and boxing. He loved listening to music, grilling, and spending time with family and friends. Jose was a very talkative person and liked to reminisce.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife, two sons (little angels) his parents, three brothers Hector Salinas (Maria), Cristobal Salinas (Aurelia) and Telesforo Salinas (Maria). Two sisters Rosalinda Salinas (Pepe) and Isaac Salinas (Isidro). He is also preceded in death by his compadre (best friend) Rosario Huerta Huerta. He is survived by one daughter Maria Morin and husband Isidro Morin of Brownfield, two sons Jose G. Salinas and wife Pamela of Brownfield and Marcelo Salinas and wife Dina of Plainview. He is survived by 10 grandchildren Layla Morin, Andrea Arias Salinas, Anthony Salinas, Nain Salinas, Alexis Salinas, Alyssa Salinas, Aidan Salinas, Gael Salinas, Jeremiah Morin and Daleyza Salinas. Jose’s family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to Dr. Chebib, Dr. Hisel, BRMC Hospital, and Interim Hospice for their loving care and guidance.
