Joseph (Joe) Martin Miller went to be with the Lord on April 6, 2023, in Lubbock Texas. He was born to Jim Miller and Enid Hoff Miller on May 10, 1966. Joe grew up working on the family dairy in Ancho, and graduated from high school in Corona, New Mexico. Along with his eight brothers and sisters he traveled throughout the area playing guitar, singing, and evangelizing with “The Miller Family Singers”.
Joe participated in the Junior Olympics where he held the New Mexico state record for the 440. In his high school days, Joe played football and basketball, but he loved to run so track was his specialty. He won first place in the FFA national Entomology contest. Joe attended Wayland Baptist University where he was a member of the International Choir. Later, Joe attended Eastern New Mexico University where he was a member of the Chamber Chorale.
Joe met his wife Rhonda Ward at ENMU and they were married in 1988. Joe was a devoted husband to Rhonda for over 32 years and a loving father to son, Jason. He adored his furry friends, Cooper and Dutch. Joe owned and operated his business, Miller’s Repair, an appliance and small engine repair business in Lubbock for over 30 years. He became well respected for his customer service and expert knowledge of the profession. Joe had a passion for hunting, fishing, and archery, but his most treasured memories were the trips with his family and friends deep-sea fishing in the Gulf of Mexico. Joe was President of the South Plains Archery Club for 3 years. He also enjoyed playing softball on numerous teams over the years.
Joseph is survived by his 8 brothers and sisters: Brenda (Nathan) Banks of North Richland Hills, TX; Linda
(Brian) Henegar of Lubbock, TX; Cindy Whitlock of Ancho, NM; Matilda (Larry) Graves of Estancia, NM; Wanda (Clint) Henson of Raton, NM; James (Tomi) Miller of House, NM; Paul (Kimalee) Miller of Capitan, NM and Ronda Miller (Michael Jefferson) of Lubbock, TX, and 33 nieces and nephews.
Joseph was preceded in death by his mother and father, Jim and Enid Miller, his wife, Rhonda Ward Miller, and son, Jason.
Joe is now in his heavenly home reunited with his wife, son, and other family members who have gone
on before. He will be deeply missed here on earth but is rejoicing with his heavenly family around the throne.
