Mr. Phillip Gonzales "Big Phil" Resident of Lubbock

Phillip Gonzales 55, of Lubbock entered the presence of his Heavenly Father on December 31, 2022. After 6 years, he fought a long and courageous battle with leukemia. As Phillip would say, “I will fight till to the wheels fall off”. A visitation will be held Thursday January 12, 2022 6-8 p.m. at Grace Funeral Care 6604 I-27. A celebration of life service will be Friday January 13, 2023 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church located at 3111 Erskine St with Father Rudy Crasta, officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Peaceful Gardens Memorial Cemetery.

His favorite things to do were to accompany his wife on casino trips & cruise around playing their most favorite music. He enjoyed cutting lawns and spending time with the loves of his life, his grandchildren!

Phillip was very well known in his neighborhood as the original OG. He will be remembered for the unconditional love for his family, for always making others laugh, and for always displaying his big faith.

One thing that was very evident, Phillip cherished his wife and family. He met the love of his life in 1980 and married on February 23, 1985. Phillip is survived by his wife, Nancy of 37 years They have by 4 children: Tina Gonzales (Justin), Philip Junior Gonzales (Valerie), Joe Anthony Gonzales (Merrisa) Diamond Rivera (Gabriel) and 8 grandchildren.

Phillip is preceded in death by his grandmother; Maria Acuna, His Uncle and Aunt Rudy and Diana Casias.
