Joe Anthony Jr., age 77, passed away at his home in Brownfield, surrounded by his family on Thursday, November 12, 2020. He was born on February 10, 1943 in Leming, Texas, to Joe and Isabel (Caramillo) Anthony. Joe married Isabel Rodriguez on February 2, 1966. As a young father of three, Joe moved his family to Wisconsin in persuit of broadened career opportunities. Through a love of metalworking, he completed an apprenticeship and achieved designation as a millwright for International-Harvester in Waukesha, Wisconsin. His drive to succeed and to complete a job well-done earned the respect of all who knew him, as a proud member of the United Steelworkers of American Union Local 3740. He retired after a long, successful career and returned home to Brownfield in 2014. A devoted father and accomplished shade-tree mechanic, his endeavors in life were a variety of labors of love. He gained many lifelong friends as a man of respect in his community. While he thoroughly enjoyed restoring classic American cars and trucks for himself and family, Joe's greatest joy was spending time with and guiding the younger generations of his family. He is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years , Isabel; his son Joe Anthony III and his children Joe IV, Catarina, Mason and Alexis; his daughter Brenda Lee Anthony and her children Jessica and Justin; his daughter Lori Ann (Anthony) Graham, her husband Rickey and their children Rickey III and Cristina; his daughter Chrissy (Anthony) Zess, her husband Scott and their son Joshua; two great-grandchildren; his sisters Elvira Martinez and Janie Flores, and his brother Johnny Anthony. At Joe's wish, there will be no funeral service, but any and all who knew and loved him are welcome to raise a toast in his memory.
