Joe Mack Killgore, age 68 of Lubbock, Texas was called home in the early morning hours of Sunday, August 30, 2020. He was born March 20, 1952 in Lubbock, Texas to parents H.G. and Billie Killgore. He is survived by the love of his life of 48 years Rebecca Killgore, three daughters Stephanie Cochran, Jennifer Killgore and Andrea Cobos.  As well as eight grandchildren Aiden, Keegan, Addison, Jonathan, Kialeigh, Brianna, Miles and Jude. Joe is also survived by his brother Bill Killgore of Lubbock, Tx. and two sisters Katherine Bourgeois of Atlanta, Georgia and Mary Ann Land of Plano, Tx He proudly worked for Sodexo for over twenty years, first as an Irrigator and then Director of Grounds for Lubbock Independent School District. Joe was the kind of man that anyone who met or knew him absolutely loved and had the utmost respect for him. He was a great role model and mentor and his kind spirit and booming voice were as infectious as his big smile. Joe was an avid golfer, especially in the mountains of New Mexico, and he enjoyed whitewater rafting as well.  All of that came second to sitting on the back porch looking out at the pond that he built with Rebeca talking about their future adventures with their sweet pup Doc. As a father, Joe was second to none, he was his daughters and grandkids biggest fan. His celebration of life will be held Saturday, September 19, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. in front of St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church in the St. Francis Garden located at 2807 42nd Street Lubbock, Tx. The service will be live streamed through St. Christopher’s Facebook page (Click Link Below) for those who are not able to attend. **To stay in line with the decision of the Archbishop anyone feeling ill should refrain from attending the live service and all in attendance will be required to wear a mask as well as stay socially distant from one another.  The family also asks that no one hug the immediate family because the priority of health of their immuno-compromised members. ** In lieu of flowers donations may be made in memory of Joe to MD Anderson Cancer Research ( Click Link Below).
