Mr. Jose "Joe" Gonzales Resident of Lubbock

Jose Angel Gonzales “Joe” 62 of Lubbock TX passed away on Thursday August 20, 2020. Joe worked for cotton gins most of his life with our father.  During the gin off season, Joe worked as a cook and he also worked as a maintenance man for the State of Texas at the Sur-plus facility.  Joe enjoyed working on cars throughout his life, which was a trade he learned from our father.  Joe was a diehard Dallas Cowboy fan.  He enjoyed old western movies and country western music.  Joe was a loving father, son, brother, uncle and friend and was of Catholic faith. Joe was preceded in death by his parents; Alejandro and Angelita (Campos) Gonzales, brother; Alberto Gonzales and sister; Irma Gonzales Otero. Those left behind to cherish Joe’s memory are his son; Joe Angel Gonzales Jr. Brothers; Alex and wife Linda Gonzales, Eddie and wife OraMay Gonzales, Abel Gonzales all of Lubbock, Danny and wife Hope Gonzales of Austin, sisters; Carolina Gonzales Vick and Angela Gonzales both of Lubbock. He also survived by 27 nephews/nieces and a host of other relatives and friends.  Celebration of Life services will begin Thursday August 27, 2020 with visitation 4-8 p.m. and recitation of rosary beginning at 6:30 p.m. at Revival City Church located at 3418 I-27. Funeral mass will follow on Friday August 28, 2020 at 10 a.m. in the sanctuary Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. He will rest in the Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park.
