Mr. Ronald Long Resident of Lubbock

Ronald T. Long of Lubbock, Texas went to be with Jesus on December 7, 2020. He was 79 years old. Ron was born in Weatherford, Texas on August 16, 1941. He was born a twin to Travis Long and Francis Mills. He had four brothers (Kenneth,  Donald ,Robert and Fred) which preceded him in death. He served in the Navy and fought during Vietnam until 1969. He  is survived by his wife of 51 yrs. Beverly D. Long. They raised 3 children, Tonja D. Sparks, Charles C. Sparks and Christopher T. Long and his wife Julie S. Long. He had 3 grandchildren, Dylan C. Sparks, Zacary L. Sparks and Hugh G. Long and a great-granddaughter, Kaleigha K. Sparks. He loved his family deeply.  Ron was a devout Christian and preached the Gospel boldly to all that he met. He loved to sing and was very talented. He found adventure in traveling. He flew planes, served in the Navy as helicopter air rescue, worked many years as a helicopter and master car mechanic, he was a great salesman and always was on the hunt for the perfect flea-market find. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather.  Thanks be to Jesus, we will meet again.
