Mrs. Dorothy G. Powell Resident of Lubbock

Mrs. Dorothy G. Powell 67, of Lubbock passed away at her residence on Saturday February 11, 2023. A public visitation will be held Thursday February 23, 2023 5-8 p.m. at Grace Funeral Care located at 6604 Interstate 27. Celebration of Life service will take place next day Friday February 24, 2023 11 a.m. at Grace Funeral Care with Apostle Eliseo Vargas. Mrs. Powell will be laid to rest at the Peaceful Garden Memorial Cemetery.

Dorothy was born July 14,1955 in Gary, Indiana to Guillermo and Francesca Garcia.

Dorothy married Harry Powell on July 14, 1985, in Lubbock, Texas. Dorothy enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, she also loved to dance and enjoyed the tune of soul music. And one of her favorite foods was a good plate of Barbecue Ribs. Dorothy attended International Church of Triumph where she loved to praise and worship her Lord and Savior.

Dorothy will be forever missed by her friends and family, near and far.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents, Guillermo, and Francesca Garcia. Two sisters, Gloria Almaguer, and Rosie Garcia.

Her memory will be cherished and kept alive by her husband; Harry Powell, two sons; Robert Zavala Jr. and wife Laura, Jason Zavala, and wife JoAnn all of Lubbock, Texas Brothers; Robert Garcia of Lubbock Texas, Freddy Garcia of Castroville Texas, and Joe Garcia of Lubbock Texas Sisters; Ida Constancio, Janie Montelongo and Yolanda Rivas all from Lubbock, Diana Benjamin from Angie Louisiana Her 10 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
