Ms. Alma L. Garcia Resident of Brownfield

On the evening of March 24^th, 2023, Alma Linda Garcia, beloved Mother, Grandmother, Aunt, Sister, Daughter, and friend passed away peacefully at the age of 56; she was visited and comforted by loved ones at the time of her passing and will be dearly missed. Alma was born on June 23^rd, 1966, in Brownfield, Texas to Tomas Garcia and Nancy Martinez, she was their first child.

Growing up, Alma watched and took care of her siblings and continued to do so as family members passed to sickness or grew old. In her young years, Alma enjoyed going to bingo, nights of gambling at the casino and attending concerts of her favorite Tejano bands. With the years, came the grandkids; she loved a loud house full of them and they always knew grandma had the best snacks. She enjoyed calling her grandkids just to say Hi and could never tell them no. In her later years, her heart knew no boundaries and would go above and beyond to help those in need without expecting anything in return. We may never know how many hearts she touched and healed.

Alma was a helping hand, shoulder to lean on and listening ear for many but most of all, she was a person who loved unconditionally. She always said, “Don’t be ugly, God don’t like ugly.”

She is preceded in death by father, Tomas Garcia; mother, Nancy Garcia; brothers, Luis Alberto Garcia, and Thomas Garcia; sisters, Jennifer Garcia and Vanessa Morales Garcia.

Alma is survived by her children, April Gomez of Brownfield, TX, Cynthia Martinez of Brownfield, TX, Gilbert and Katie Gomez of Carlsbad, NM and Samantha Garcia and Daniel Martinez of Brownfield, TX, her grandkids; 9 grandsons, 7 granddaughters, 1 great grandson and 2 great granddaughters on the way, her siblings; Jessie and Maria Garcia of Seminole, TX, Margarita and Antonio Fuentes of Brownfield, TX, Mary Jane Garcia and Ricky Romero of Brownfield, TX, Sammy and Virginia Garcia of Lubbock, TX, Daniel and Irma Garcia of Lubbock, TX, Amanda Flores of Brownfield, TX and John Garcia of Brownfield, TX.

Visitations will be held on Wednesday, March 29^th, 2023, 5-8 p.m. and Thursday, March 30^th, 2023, 4-8 p.m. at Grace Funeral Care located at 1211 Lubbock Road in Brownfield. A celebration of life service will take place on Friday, March 31^st, 2023, 10 a.m. at Templo Betel located at 905 S 5th St, Brownfield, TX 79316 with Pastor Santos Gamez, officiating.

She will be laid to rest in the Historic Brownfield Cemetery.
