Ms. Carol Ann Harris Resident of Lubbock

Ms. Carol Ann Harris, age 79, died peacefully at The Plaza in Lubbock, Texas on April 10^th, 2022. A Visitation will be held Monday April 18, 2022 4-6 p.m. at Grace Funeral Care Inc. located at 6604 Interstate 27. Celebration of Life will commence Tuesday April 19, 2022 at 11 a.m. same location. 

“Ms. Carol” as she was known to many was born January 30^th, 1943 in Sulphur Springs, Texas to Archie Lindley and Beatrice Thompson. At an early age she professed her faith in Jesus Christ and was a member of Church of Christ. She attended Douglas High School. After a lengthy time in Sulphur Springs, Carol moved to the Lone Star State. She met and married Donald Wayne Harris, August 22^nd, 1977 and they made their home in Lubbock, Texas, with their children.

Early on in her career, Carol spent years at Durham Transportation, Lubbock Independent School District and Texas Instruments. She would spend the latter part of her career working at the Lubbock State School, Bethpage Mission South and Caleb, Inc. Carol had a special bond with residents of these facilities and would often bring them home during the holidays, before retiring with a lengthy illness.

On her days off, you could find Carol enjoying her time sitting in her favorite chair, with her baby Bella-boo, watching her soap opera, The Young and The Restless as well as various other TV shows and old westerns.  When she wasn’t listening to music and dancing, you could find her sitting outside in her carport talking with her neighbors and feeding neighborhood cats.

Carol was preceded in death by her father, Archie Lindley, her mother, Beatrice Thompson, her husband, Donald W. Harris, her sister Lou Jane Lindley and three brothers, Fred Lindley, Ned Lindley and Mike Lewis.

Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her children: Joe Hall and Gralen McChristion (Laytonia), Sonia Nelson (Byron) and KaTina Harris; 14 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, a host of relatives and dear friends.
