Ms. Clara Larue Stanford Resident of Mathis Texas

Ms. Clara LaRue Kidd Stanford passed away on November 8, 2022 at her home in Alpine, Texas.

LaRue leaves behind her 3 children: Sharon Stanford Cooper (Mike), Rozolen Stanford (Denis Foley), and Kimbell Stanford Jr., as well as 10 Grandchildren and 16 Great Grandchildren.

She was born in Sweetwater, Texas on September 25, 1938, to Thomas Franklin Kidd and Cecil Clara Neves Kidd.   She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Kimbell Stanford, Sr; her brothers Tommy Kidd and Hugh Kidd; and her sister Carolyn Howell. 

LaRue was a spit fire Texan and proud of it, she was outspoken and very forthright, she was strong and resilient.  She married young and lived many places in her 84 years.

She held a variety of jobs ranging from picking cotton to grocery cashier to tool handler on a construction site and owning a dive bar.  She loved gardening and was an avid reader. 

More than anything she loved Kimbell, he was her life and she followed him through his many Ramblin Man adventures. She will be buried next to him in Mathis, Texas.
