Ms. Ethel Hill Resident of Brownfield

Ethel Marie Moore Hill, who was known and loved as Marie, was born July 16, 1949 to Myrtie and Carl Moore in Yazoo City, MS. She went to be with our heavenly father on March 3, 2023 in her home surrounded by the love of her devoted husband, John. Marie was a proud mother to three sons, a wonderful Grandmother and a blessed Great-Grandmother.

Marie was definitely one of a kind, she was the ultimate saleswoman and entrepreneur before she even knew what that truly meant. She was always looking for ways to make money, even as a child she would collect coke bottles to re-sell. She would spend the rest of her life doing just that, what she loved and enjoyed, by selling anything and everything she could. She loved going to flea markets and garage sales. At one point in life she even had her own "BlockBuster" style business. Neighbors would come to her apartment to rent movies, which she had organized on every wall. She also loved going to the lake with family and going dancing whenever she could. She was the biggest John Wayne and Elvis Presley fan as well.

 

In her late teen years she decided to move to Texas to start her family. Her father would then move the whole family from Mississippi just to be near her. Marie shared a birthday and special bond with her mother, a highlight in her life was when she was able to take her mother on a trip to Hawaii for their birthdays.

She is preceded in death by her parents, brother, George Moore and "adopted" sister, Sheila Moreno.

Marie is survived by her husband, John Hill; children Ernest Cote and wife Christina, George Cote, Charlie Cote and wife Michele, Cathy Hill, Laurie Stevens and husband Andy; grandchildren Cameron Cote, Devon Cote, Harlie Cote, Kameron Cote, Cassie Hackley, Tiffany Hill and Stormy Crescini; great-grandchildren Skylar and Luna Dryden; Audrina, Charlie and Sienna Hackley and Lucas and Holton Tenery; her beloved sisters Millie Daugherty, Gaye Owen and husband Alton, Kala Singles and husband Woody Woodworth, brother in-law Gerado Moreno, nieces and nephews Sean Daugherty, Jackie Soliz and husband Rafael, Jennifer Ang and husband Juan, Howard Singles and wife Kristen, Colleen Singles, Michelle Yates and husband Ben Gomez, Cristina Aguirre and husband Martin, Stevan Moreno and Douglas Yates along with many loved great-nieces and nephews.

Services to celebrate Marie will be held on Sunday, March 26, 2023 at 2:00 pm. Westlake House located in Westlake Park, 421 Gross Road, Mesquite, TX 75149
