Ms. Teresa A. Herrera Resident of Brownfield

Ms. Teresa Herrera 47, of Brownfield passed away peacefully at her residence. a visitation will be held Saturday March 12, 2022, 2-8 p.m. in the chapel of Grace Funeral Care-Brownfield.

Teresa was born on October 14, 1974, in Lubbock, Texas to Oralia and the late Lupe Guerra. In 1990 Teresa met the love of her life, Roberto Herrera. In 1991 Teresa gave birth to the most beautiful, blue eyed baby girl Briana May. On September 19, 1992, Teresa and Roberto were married. In 1994 Teresa gave birth to their son Nathaniel Ismael. Teresa was a proud, confident, nourishing, woman who loved to cook and clean but mostly and firstly care for her family. There wasn’t anything ChaCha wouldn’t do for us. Before her grandkids came along, Teresa’s nieces and nephews were inseparable from her. They meant everything to her, she loved us all the same. Everyone wanted to be at ChaCha’s house. She kept you well fed, and her motherly spirit of a woman was so nourishing.  We never wanted to leave her house. She made you feel comfortable and always safe.

Teresa ‘s humble soul would give you the shirt off her back and her bed to anyone who needed it. She was a selfless person who loved her family and loved eating Ice with salt. I remember when Teresa came into our family’s life, she came with a different style of cooking. Her flautas and potato salad was delicious. She was the greatest cook. She loved to dance, make tortillas, keep warm outside by the firepit, and keep the yard clean. She especially loved her sisters and most of all her brother Casper. While Teresa did not have “favorites” we beg to differ.

We would say Gregory was her most favorite, not to mention her grandson; Jariden. Teresa had a genuine love that none could compare, she could face anything life threw her way. Teresa will be greatly missed.

Knowing she was greeted by our precious Elvira at the Golden Gates alongside with her father Lupe Guerra and in-law, Martin Herrera. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband; Roberto Herrera, daughter; Briana Herrera, son; Nathaniel Herrera (Serena), 7 grandchildren, mother; Oralia Garza, sisters; and brothers; Carol Felan, Jeanette Rodriguez (Ruben), Michelle Guerra, Lupe Guerra III (Vanessa), and Vincent Jimenez (Christine). She was preceded in death by her father, Lupe Guerra Jr.
