Yajaira Monsivais was taken from her family on the night of February 25, 2021 at the age of 25. She was the daughter of Armondo and Christina Garcia. Yajaira was born on August 24, 1995 in Stephenville, Texas and was the middle child of five sisters. She was raised in the small town of Idalou, Texas where she attended high school. Yajaira leaves behind her parents, Armondo and Christina, as well as four sisters, Katherine Moreno, Miranda Moreno, Kiara Monsivais, and Amare Monsivais. She also leaves behind, five beautiful daughters: Genesis, Ava, Nevaeh, Penelope and Bella.
Yajaira was a generous, fearless, understanding, and very funny person. She was someone that was full of life and love. Her smile was contagious, and her laughter filled a room. She wore her heart on her sleeve and constantly encouraged all her sisters to be successful. Yajaira was strong, she was someone that always found a way to her goals despite the many challenges she faced in her personal life. There was never a dull moment with her because of her vibrant character and goofy personality. Yajaira was able to make a joke out of any situation, even the difficult ones. Her witty humor and charisma made it a joy to be around her. Although she was petite, her fierceness was twice her size and she never gave up on herself. She was bold, courageous, and most importantly, she was loving.
Yajaira enjoyed many things during her brief life, starting with fashion and makeup. Being the fashionista that she was, she was not shy to point out how “your shoes didn’t match with your shirt.” Not only was fashion a passion of hers, but she also had a special place in her heart for animals. There was no such thing as a stray to her, she was quick to take in and nurture any animal she could. Yajaira’s favorite hobbies also included baking, cooking, being outdoors and above all, spending time with her family.
Yajaira was deeply loved, not only by her family but by close friends and anyone else that had the privilege of knowing her. She will be missed beyond what words are able to express, her memories will continue to flood our minds and she will be kept close to our hearts.
A celebration of her life will be held Friday March 5, 2021 with a visitation from 5-8 p.m. at Faith First House of Hope located at 1809 34th Street in Lubbock. Service will begin at 6 p.m. with Pastor Justin B. Lawrence officiating.
